Who is the chef at Old Barn Steakhouse?
James Richardson is a chef harking from local roots, and now sporting all manner of accolades, including the Ulster Tatler Chef of the Year 2012. Specialising in hearty and traditional dishes, he strives to use locally sourced ingredients wherever possible. James complemented his culinary training by studying under a revered seafood chef, and also scooped up some work experience in the kitchens of renowned hotels, before returning to home pastures.

What are the speciality dishes?
As the restaurant's name suggests, the steaks are a main feature of the menu. They're sourced from a Loughgall farm and aged for 28 days, and whether it’s an 8oz fillet or 16oz T-Bone, it will always be cooked to the customer's liking. There is also a mixed grill on the menu, and various seafood dishes, as well as chicken and duck feasts too.

How about drinks?
The wine list features red and white tipples from all over the world, with something to complement every flavour on the menu. There is also Prosecco and Champagne for those feeling extravagant, and soft drinks available too.

What is the building like?
The building itself dates back to the mid-19th century, and still retains some of its original features. Used as a grocery shop and as grain storage, the interiors now feature rustic exposed brickwork and wooden pillars, as well as a contemporary and particularly stylish finish.
