Grilling, sautéing and kneading their way to culinary stardom, students at Tennent's Training Academy can bring to life a selection of seafood, Mediterranean or Italian dishes with the help of celebrity chef Michael Kilkie. During each four-hour masterclass Michael will impart the requisite whys and wherefores of creating a three-course meal. Pupils receive a refreshment before a dinner of the created dishes at the chef's table. Equipment and ingredients are provided and the class is followed by a Q&A with the chef.

What's the story at Tennent's Training Academy?
Based inside the brewery that makes the eponymous lager, the academy is a specialised training zone for the hospitality industry. More than forty courses are offered, all conducted and curated by experts in the relevant field. The depth and detail of each course changes and students frequently enrol either for new experiences or to consolidate their career paths with accredited courses.
What can students learn?
A selection of things for trade and/or leisure. For example, street food enthusiasts may wish to begin their food service adventure by first getting to grips with basic food hygiene. Alternatively, for a fun night out, curry enthusiasts can take part in a cook, curry, comedy class that starts off by educating participants about spice blends, features a meal, and ends up at Jongleurs.
Are there any special events?
Frequently. For a few days during the summer of 2013, celebrity chef Michael Kilkie will be taking over the state-of-the-art facilities at Tennent's Training Academy to educate students in a series of four-hour masterclasses. The Sunday Mail's cookery columnist will take students through a masterclass of either seafood, Mediterranean or Italian cuisine.
