Alongside fell running and mountaineering, other highland adventure sports are soon to include crag-cartwheeling and loch-jumping. Try the newest sport on the scene in Scotland with today's Groupon: for £26 instead of £65 jump from the UK's first static bungee jump platform with Highland Fling Bungee.

From the bridge over the River Garry at Killiecrankie, the sweeping panoramic views of the Perthshire landscape are awe inspiring. Where better to build the UK's first permanent static bungee jump platform. With support from the National Trust for Scotland, Perth and Kinross council and Scottish Enterprise, directing partners John and Murray have bound their outdoor adventure business success and experience with master bungee maestro Gavin Gibson, overseer of 130,000 jumps in his time. 40 metres above the gurgling waters of the river that cuts through the historic gorge, the plunge platform is officially opening on the 27 May 2011, but selected pre-launch jumps are available for the bold, brave and bald eagle wannabees.
Today's Groupon gives gallant holders the chance to be among the first featherless fliers to make the plunge. There will be highly trained safety instructors on hand to ensure everything goes smoothly before gravity takes over, using a winch to bring jumpers back up to the bridge. Spectators are welcome to enjoy the experience and take in the awesome scenery. Highland Fling also have t-shirts, videos and photos available to immortalise those precious moments of free fall.
