The Hotel
A grand Georgian property, complete with a turret and striped lawns, Altamount House Hotel welcomes guests to a world of period features and country house charm. The Peacock Restaurant serves a select menu furnished with specialities made from ingredients including Scottish beef, fresh fish, and locally grown vegetables. Found in Blairgowrie, around 17 miles north of Perth, the hotel rests in quiet surroundings, ideal for countryside wedding parties.

Two championship golf courses unfold in front of sweeping views at the nearby Blairgowrie Golf Club. If you fancy a longer ramble, follow an eight-mile route along the banks of the River Ericht, departing from the centre of Blairgowrie, passing huge fields of raspberries, crossing Kitty Swanson's bridge, and taking in wide views of the Sidlaw Hills. Wander through the dappled and bluebell-carpeted glades of Tay Forest Park, or set up camp in one of the cosy cafes in the centre of Blairgowrie for big scones and local jam. The famous Perthshire whisky trail boasts a series of distilleries within easy reach. For an adventurous winter pursuit, hop in a car and travel the 35 minutes to the snow-covered slopes of the Glenshee ski resort.

Fabulous hotel and the staff were absolutely wonderful. Beautiful gardens and wildlife - loved the peacocks. Very quiet and peaceful.
