Though birds of prey can be ferocious, they also happen to be deeply in touch with their spiritual sides. Head out on a wing and a prayer with today’s Groupon: from Phoenix Falconry. Choose from the following options:
• £12 for a 90 minute falconry lesson with a Harris hawk (52% off)• £34 for a 3.5 hour bird of prey experience, handling up to 12 species (55% off)

Sending 12 species of bird soaring against the verdant backdrop of South Perthshire, Phoenix Falconry plays host to bald eagles, buzzards, peregrine falcons, and just one terrified wood pigeon. Each bird has unique characteristics, and each one has been trained by their expert falconers in the art of hunting and looking extremely sleek. The centre gives visitors a whole range of opportunities to handle and meet the birds, including lessons and walks through the nearby woodland.

The 90 minute lesson option includes a brief introduction to a Harris hawk, covering the basics of favourite foods and colours before visitors get a chance to handle and fly the bird unaided. The half day experience packs three and a half hours with learning, including facts on the ecology, biology, and psychology of some of the birds, before visitors get to pull on the enormous leather glove and fly a selection of the 12 species, from owls and falcons to the 200mph peregrine.
Reviews
Phoenix Falconry received a high flying 5/5 stars from users on TripAdvisor, as the knowledgeable staff and engrossing activities made for an exciting falconry experience.
The crew at Phoenix Falconry are very professional and care that their clients get the most from the time spent with them. The team are obviously passionate about what they do and this is reflected in the standard of the establishment and condition of the birds.
