With a host of classically furnished en suite rooms leading to a cluster of self-catering cottages, Traquair Arms offers guests a warm welcome and cosy spot to rest their heads. The on-site restaurant serves up traditional Scottish foods and the odd Italian bite, seasoned with home-grown herbs and made using locally and sustainably sourced ingredients where possible. The bar serves up a warming dram of whisky to sup by the open fire, and locally brewed Traquair Bear Ale to enjoy in the beer garden when the sun comes out to play.
Lace up your walking boots and grab your camera to snap up the historical sights and rambling hikes in Elibank and Traquair forest, some of the Tweed Valley’s oldest woodland and hunting-ground for ancient nobles. For those who fancy pumping some adrenaline, take in the views at speed on one of Innerleithen’s many downhill mountain-biking trails. Climb to the heights of Caberston, where the Pirn Hillfort offers panoramic views of the valley, or take a daytrip to the riverside, museums, and architectural wealth of nearby Peebles.

The Traquair Arms Hotel received an inviting 3.5/5 from TripAdvisors. While opinions have varied at times on food and décor, guests have generally praised the hotel’s location along with the friendly staff and relaxed atmosphere.
Excellent food, delightful atmosphere, coal fires perfect and the choice of malts is simply fantastic and the staff are very helpful and obliging. This is a lovely hotel run by people who really care about their guests, well worth a visit (looking forward to staying once again in the the summer 2012.........).

The full Scottish brekkie [sic] will keep you going all day long. The location is perfect and very Scottish alpine in its feel. A lovely quite village nestled between folds of hills with some very accessible walks minutes away. Our family room was spotless, quiet and very comfortable.
