The original version of the restaurant was characterised by a lack of tables, a collection of beds, and an abundance of people resting on them. Wake your appetite with today’s Groupon: £34.95 for a four course meal with a bottle of wine at Old Manor Hotel.
This West Wiltshire hotel is steeped in history and boasts the accolade of featuring on the Sky TV travel programme Britain’s Best Breaks. The building has been emblazoned with Grade II listed status and is brimming with character and unique furniture, each piece harbouring a story to tell. The resident restaurant, a former milking parlour, serves up a seasonal menu of rustic fare that is locally sourced when possible.

This four course banquet will kindle appetites with a choice of starters such as goats’ cheese bruschetta (£5.95) and leek and potato soup with croutons. A lemon sorbet (£4.95) will then cleanse palates, making way for a mains including the mixed grill served with chunky chips, mushrooms, and tomato (£18), rump steak (£14), or roasted sea bass with sweet potato mash (£14). A dessert will then tantalise the taste buds with the likes of forest berry Eton mess (£5.50) or the exotic fruit slice (£5.50), and a bottle of house wine will be shared to wash it all down (£15.95).
Reviews
While the accommodations for Old Manor Hotel received the most attention, many reviewers praised the well-prepared food and friendly service.
A very welcoming family atmosphere & lovely sofas to relax on after really good food. The beef was especially good & fanastic [sic] value. The Baileys cheeseckae [sic] was superb! We will be back!!
