A traditional countryside pub dating back to the 16th century, The Bell On The Common dishes up whisperings of history with every heart-warming home cooked dish. The establishment offers a diverse menu of classic pub dishes complemented by a splash of the realest of ales, and boasts large, roaring open fires to keep customers warm in the winter months. Located a short drive from Bath’s city centre, the pub provides a warm, friendly abode away from the hustle and bustle of the city.
Sipping from a glass of house wine or Wandsworth real ale, hungry pairs or quads can peruse a menu rich with British favourites and pick a main or starter each from the classic or vegetarian menu. To kick off the dining experience, customers can choose from a range of intriguing starters, including the smoked salmon parcels with prawns, Marie rose sauce and a leafy salad (£6.75), or the creamy garlic mushrooms accompanied by bruschetta (£4.50). Visitors can then order a main in the form of the fisherman’s pie filled with cod, prawns, and smoked haddock (£10.50), the steak and ale pie with hand-cut chips (£9.95), or the Mediterranean roast vegetables in a pastry basket with goat's cheese and a tomato and basil sauce (£10.95).

This is the classic English pub. You can chat with the locals, play darts or snooker/pool, have a few drinks, and enjoy some really awesome food.

Went for my work’s Xmas party meal here at lunchtime & thoroughly enjoyed everything! Service was swift without being too quick & staff very friendly/ helpful. We had the Xmas party menu which had plenty to chose [sic] from traditional turkey with all the trimmings or Salmon en croute which I had & it was great. Didn't have much room left for dessert though! Chocolate cheesecake, smooth & creamy, mmm. Will certainly visit again with my husband for Sunday lunch soon.
