The Hotel
Soaking up the Somerset sun, this family-run bed and breakfast resides in a quaint cottage-style hotel with a heated outdoor swimming pool in its private back garden. Pool towels are complimentary and the terraces are also decked with garden furniture and parasols. Indoors, the breakfast room serves up hearty cooked breakfasts, while the TV lounge depicts a cosy cottage air of flower-patterned armchairs and a charming stone fireplace, plus handy local information brochures for browsing.

Groupon Recommends
Don the hiking boots and make the most of the Mendip Hills, with the famous caves and underground rivers of Cheddar Gorge within easy walking distance. Britain’s oldest complete human skeleton, Cheddar Man, was discovered in the caves in 1903, which also feature impressive stalactite and stalagmite formations to gawp at. Rock climbing, abseiling, and caving trips can be taken with the nearby activity centres, and local grocers are stocked with sweet offerings of the town’s famous fudge . Venturing further afield, discover druid stories and standing stones at Glastonbury, or plan a day out at the seaside at Weston-Super-Mare.

Reviews

Gordons Hotel was rated a king-sized 4.5/5 by TripAdvisor users. Reviewers were keen to praise the hotel’s convenient location as well as the friendly staff and the quality of the housekeeping.

We have just returned from a short break in the Cheddar Gorge, staying at Gordons Hotel, which is most convenient for the Gorge and local restaurants & shops. Can’t speak highly enough of this hotel – very welcoming with a well appointed bedroom & bathroom, with all those little details that make a stay so comfortable.

It is in an ideal location for visiting the area and within walking distance to the gorge. The rooms were very clean, breakfast excellent and staff very helpful and friendly, we would definitely stay there again if we return to the area.
