The Hotel
Nesting on a remote coastal spot, this family-run hotel makes for a restful spot with elegant boutique style bedrooms with all the necessary comforts. The Pier Restaurant makes the most of the panorama with its glassy front overlooking the bay while the menus boast meals prepared with local produce and fresh catches from their pier-fronted doorstep. Decked out with appropriately nautical stylings, the Captain’s Bar provides a more informal setting for dining, with beer and stout on tap plus a wine cellar below, as well as live musicians playing into the early hours.

The coast path offers over 10km of scenic scrambling, with diversions onto boulder-filled beaches to get stuck into. Keep eyes peeled for wildlife along the nature trails from the shoreline up the Erne Estuary, or head into the historic town of Ballyshannon, one of the oldest towns in Ireland, and sample the craic-filled pubs. Surfers can suit up on Rossnowlagh, the nearby Blue Flag Beach, with equipment hire and surf lessons available, while other sporty offerings in the area include golf and deep sea fishing.

Transport
Road: From Belfast, head west on the M1 towards Dungannon, then take the A4 to Enniskillen. The hotel is reachable by turning off the N3 at Ballyshannon and taking the R231. From Derry, follow the A5 to Strabane then take the N15 south to link to the R231.
