Dipped between the mountains of Mourne and the shores of Carlingford Lough, The Balmoral sits on the pinnacle of Warrenpoint gazing across the estuary and into the Irish Sea. Sail towards a short break with today's Groupon from The Balmoral:
• £99 for a two night stay for two (Up to 51% off)
In an en suite double room with breakfast each morning
The Hotel
Lapping up a waterfront location on the aptly named Seaview Road, this family-run hotel has a luxury feel with satin covers and stylish furnishings. As well as the wine shop and ballroom neatly tucked inside, the auberge features a bar that’s a hub of activity with live music on the weekends, and international fare is served up in the award winning Restaurant 23. Wall-to-ceiling windows, which run from the ground floor bar to the top floor dining area, make for a stylish cut-out feature on the edge of the town house, with round window portals echoing the seaside location.
Groupon Recommends
Cross to the County Down bank of the river and walk the footpath to Narrow Water Castle, a 16th century tower house built to protect the Newry estuary from attack. When not making the most of the bay’s waters, with sailing and other water-sport centres to hand, take a splash in the public baths in the town park and dry off in time to catch some music on the park’s often occupied band stand. Keen fishers can cast a line off the promenade, or serious anglers can get hold of a permit and head to one of the towns two inland lakes.
The Stay
