The Hotel
Building bridges with four star acclaim, the County Derry castle’s 15th century facade contains lavish suites and rooms bedecked in Laura Ashley textiles, while the view beyond stretches over green Irish pastures, looking wistfully out to the surrounding Sperrin mountains. The Moloko restaurant uses a selection of local produce and was awarded Best Restaurant 2012 by Local Women Magazine.

Having taken in the majestic grounds of the castle itself, stroll through the town to Dungiven priory and peer over the edge of the 200ft precipice that plunges down to the River Roe. For a stroll into the countryside, set a hiking course to Altaheglish Reservoir, a mountain lake surrounded by forest. Staying closer to the castle, explore the traditional market town itself.
