A recent addition to the heart of Queen's Quarter, Me:nu isn’t the typical new kid on the block, with head chefs Gerard Donnelly and Sandy Plumb having trained under gastronomic greats. A contemporary style adorns this restaurant, with classic understatement utilised to create a relaxing and ambient environment throughout. A variety of unique flavours are dished up, using locally sourced seafood and meats where available to create a smorgasbord of fine cuisine, with a separate vegetarian menu also offered.
Famished families of two adults and two children can enjoy a three course feast comprising a starter, main and dessert. The choice of starters includes beetroot risotto with goats' cheese, lemon and black pepper, and roast rare breed pork belly with five spiced apple puree and pickled carrots. Hearty main meals include roast venison and ham hock meatloaf with mash and onion ice cream, and slow-cooked daube of beef with creamy mash and roasted root vegetables. Dinners are topped with a plethora of sweet-tooth-pleasing desserts, including bitter chocolate pot with raspberry ice cream and pistachio brittle.
