While a journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step, it's a lot quicker to take the car. Acquire more wheel-based wisdom with today's Groupon: £1400 for a four-part driving instructor training course at mini2drive.

Teaching pupils and budding instructors the rules of the road in BMW Mini Coopers, this driving school knows how to get its students safely up to speed. Mini2drive empowers instructors across Northern Ireland, getting them qualified so they can help their own students gain freedom for social outings, work travel, and the provision of taxi services for grateful grans.

Budding driving instructors who are over 21 and have proudly owned a full driving licence for at least the past four years will be guided through this four-stage course by tutors experienced in steering rookies. Part one imparts classroom-based theory, before assessing knowledge with an ADI theory exam and a hazard perception test. Following successful completion, learners will accelerate to part two, taking 16 driving sessions of 90 minutes each in a nippy Mini Cooper. Stage three sees drivers returning to the classroom environment for a comprehensive grounding in instructional techniques, before the final module unleashes 16 sessions of role-playing action to prepare instructors for unpredictable lesson scenarios. The duration of the course depends on how much time learners can squeeze into their own weekly timetable, with the possibility of it taking as little as nine weeks. To successfully complete the course, students must pass a vision test, a theory and hazard perception test, a practical driving ability test, and a practical test of instructional ability, and will require Criminal Records Bureau check before starting out in business.

Course breakdown:
Part one: 16 sessions - Classroom and/or home study. Must take theory knowledge and advanced driving tests.
Part two: 16 sessions - One to one in-car tuition over 16 90-minute sessions
Part three: 42 sessions - Instructional techniques covered in classroom
Part four: 16 sessions - Role play - Mock driving lesson sessions in car
