Philip T. Adams leads Shuttersheep’s student scuttling across Belfast city centre, where he spins a web of on-location digital camera workshops and safaris. With 20 years of media experience, Philip's educational undertaking of Fine Art, Digital and Film Photography took him to New York and Washington, after which occupational ventures have been aplenty. From photojournalism and food photography, to press shoots and landscape camerawork, his career has focussed on professional commercial photography, and zoomed in on teaching future generations as well.
A class of up to 15 participants will convene at Rhubarb Restaurant on Little Victoria Street, before traversing the city during the on-location, 'Springtime in Beautiful Belfast' workshop. With their own camera in one hand, students will use the other to pick up photography fundamentals such as camera and light management, depth of field, shutter speeds and ISOs. Thereafter, artistic techniques such as composition and urban photography methods can also be snapped up. While class content is largely determined by the weather, lighting and what captures the interest of the individual group, visited places often include the Grand Opera House, Belfast City Hall and Royal Avenue.
