Spreading appetising aromas into the elegant Copthorne Hotel, the chefs at Bugis Street Brasserie cook up a storm with a sumptuous selection of finely-spiced treats. The restaurant follows on from the success of its Kensington predecessor, silencing bellies with pan-Asian fare prepared under the experienced eyes of head chef Chee Kean Chan. Inside, tasteful cream and deep red decor complements a menu featuring vibrant Singaporean noodle dishes and rich Cantonese seafood.
Diners will unravel Chinese, Singaporean and Malaysian specialities beginning with a choice of starters such as spicy salt and pepper king prawns (£6.95) and grilled pork dumplings (£5.15). Fresh catches and fine cuts of meat await eager teeth, with a choice of main courses including stir fried scallops with mange tout (£11.95), Hainanese chicken rice (£8.75), and okra and Szechuan chilli sauce (£8.25). Meals will have a sweet finale, with tempting treats such as the banana fritters or a chocolate spring roll with raspberry sauce (both £3.95) available.
Reviews
The Bugis Street Brasserie was rated a mouth watering 4/5 by TripAdvisor users, while satiated Toptable users awarded 7.3/10. Diners complimented the staff, but gave special praise to the Singaporean and Malaysian influenced cuisine.
This was our second visit and on both occasions the quality of the food was excellent. We couldn't resist ordering a portion of their 'Pork Ribs in Capital Sauce' as an extra side dish, as in our opininon [sic] these are the best ribs in Birmingham. The Capital Sauce is delicious!

The restaurant is located inside the Copthorne Hotel which may seem a bit odd for somewhere selling Singaporean style food, but don't be put off, the food here is better than that in nearby China Town.
