Stirring the senses with gentle spices and steaming bowls of basmati rice, Cafe Melange plates up fusion feasts inspired by the regional flavours of India and Bangladesh. The restaurant transports taste buds to the far corners of the sub-continent with a variety of traditional curries and sides, as well as plating up a huge range of steak dinners dressed with spicy tandoori marinades.
Stepping up on to the magic carpet, feasts will get off to a flying start with the likes of the tandoori salmon (£4.95) or the mint-marinated lamb chops (£3.95) before swooping its way up to the main courses. High-flying dishes could include the mellow flavours of the butter chicken in a creamy sauce (£7.25), the piquant heat of the lamb achari bhuna cooked with onions, garlic, and pickles (£6.50) or the complex tones of the tandoori mixed masala dressed in a spicy tomato sauce (£8.95). Gliding back down to earth, evening banquets will be topped off with an after dinner coffee (£2.50) each.

I went with a few friends and had a very pleasant experience. There was a good variety of choices on the menu. We went for a selection of different dishes and were impressed at how skillfully each dish was presented. The food itself was delicious and tasted just as good as it looked. The portion sizes were very generous, yet reasonably priced. The staff were nice and friendly and provided an exceptional level of service. Café Melange is truly a hidden gem and definitely worth a visit!
