Waving goodbye to the coast, the team at qualified instructors at Ticket to Ride choose surf over turf with their one-on-one and group surfing lessons on Cornwall’s northern coastline. The facility in Perranporth, just ten miles south of Newquay, has plenty of on-site parking, a changing room and a surf shop, meaning that budding surfers can hit the connected sandy beach fully equipped and ready to try and catch their first waves. The centre also offers lessons in kitesurfing, an up-and-coming sport with influences from paragliding to wakeboarding.
Having arrived at the coast, learners can get ready to paddle out and face the ocean for an entire day. They will spend the morning being coached in surfing techniques by ISA- and RNLI-qualified instructors, during which all equipment will be provided. After a break for lunch, new wave-riders will be able to rent a board for the afternoon to put their newly learned surf skills into practice.
