About Tutbury Castle
An ancient castle steeped in centuries of history, Tutbury has seen its fair share of momentous occasions and grisly goings-on. Occupied since the 11th century, this fortress was one of Mary Queen of Scots' prisons and one of the great centres of power in the medieval world. Regular historic re-enactments and spooky ghost tours educate curious visitors while simultaneously sinking them into the enthralling world of this towering fort.

About The Event
Groups of four will be transported to the middle ages, greeted as revered guests to spend two days among these noble knights of old. The traditions of medieval England are brought to life, with an accurate and educational portrayal from daily life and attire to deadly weaponry. The camp is bustling with life throughout the day, with archery competitions and a grand knight’s tournament to put mettle to the test. Inquisitive squires are encouraged to pry away at the habits and history of the knights throughout this faithful recreation.

Other Attractions
The Great Hall will be open throughout for guided tours and a range of hot and cold snacks are served in the scenic tea room.

Reviews

Tutubury Castle received a fortified 4/5 from TripAdvisor, Qype and Yelp users. While the Armourial Knights event is yet to be commented on, visitors have praised the castle's setting and views, as well as a variety of special events held at the venue.

The castle offers stunning views and you can also look down onto Burton-Upon-Trent at all the factories and breweries around the town. I think this place is a really nice spot for functions and events and I'll be sure to return if I'm in the area again in the future. – Tom H., Yelp, May 2010

A great castle in an outstanding spot, commanding views across some of Englands beautiful countryside. If you take the time to look in to it Tutbury has a wealth of history that is very very interesting, including the resident ghosts! – Neil E, TripAdvisor, Jun 2012
