Owls are known for being symbols of wisdom, turning their heads almost 360 degrees, and refusing to open their beaks when uninterested. Learn to give a hoot with today’s Groupon: £19 for a half day hands-on falconry and owl experience at Falconry Experiences.
Perching on 154 acres of pastoral habitat, Falconry Experience offers guests a chance to become best buds with beautiful birds of prey through a range of hands-on and demonstrative sessions. The high-flying company takes all ages under its educational wing, as the trainers encourage crowd participation with games for the young and physical demonstrations for the young at heart. Photography experiences and owl encounters are also available for those looking to zoom in and get personally acquainted.
Over the course of the three hour falconry and owl experience, avian enthusiasts will learn to take a hands-on approach as they are instructed by experienced trainers. Armed with protective gear, patrons can watch falcons perch on their outstretched leather gloves while learning all about the species. Customers will have the opportunity to hold not only falcons, but a range of British owl breeds including Tawny and Black Barn.
While Falconry Experience is yet to be reviewed itself, Roliston Foresty Centre was rated a high flying 4/5 by TripAdvisor users who enjoyed the rural setting and a range of activities, including seeing the birds of prey in action.
The weather didn't make it easy but the Falconers handling [sic] the whole experience fantastically. They kept apologising. There really was no need what the [sic] taught us and showed was superb. It was very educational and a great experience.
