The family-owned Shabab is situated in the Brum’s Balti Triangle, serving up a sizzling menu of authentic Indian fare. The restaurant is recently refurbished and boasts an artful selection of warm lamps, pink and purple lighting, and extravagantly patterned walls. Flavours on the menu range from mild spices to tongue tinglers, with palates able to swoop up their meals eating-in or taking away.

Getting tastebuds going with two poppadoms (£1.10 each), diners can choose from a menu including mixed grill meats in tikka (£3.95) and tandoori fish (£3.50) for starters. The main event includes the likes of balti chicken, lamb and king prawn (£8.95), chicken tikka keema masala (£7.95), and lamb tikka rogan josh (£7.75). Vegetarian and nut-free options are available, and each meal comes with a choice of pilau rice (£1.95) or boiled rice or chips (both £1.75) on the side.

Reviews
Shababs received a mouth-tingling 4.5/5 from both TripAdivsor and Balti-Birmingham users. Visitors praised the attentive staff and modern décor, but special mention was reserved for the authentic Balti cuisine.
Very friendly and accommodating, took time to engage in conversation with genuine interest. The service and food were great. Excellent food, service and atmosphere - highly reccommended [sic].

We ordered a variety of Balti's [sic] all served in authentic cast iron bowls, super fresh and all cooked to perfection accompanied with freshly baked nan bread; even my mother at 70 year old [sic] and a non curry eater ordered a vegetarian balti cooked by the chef to be none [sic] spicy and she loved it!
