Sizzling with sub-continental fare, Gurkha 2 is delicately garnished with traditional tandoori, balti, and madras dishes from across Nepal and India. The eastern menu is a hotpot of succulent cuts of chicken, lamb, and freshly-prepared seafood, all drizzled with authentic herbs and spices and accompanied by steaming bowls of basmati rice and freshly prepared breads.
The waterfall of flavours can cascade onto taste buds with a starter each, including options such as piri momo, fried dumplings stuffed with lean lamb mince and cooked in extra hot chilli sauce (£5.95); or the stuffed mushrooms (£2.95). Flavours will continue trickling in with a tempting array of classic meaty and vegetarian main courses. Meals will sail onwards smoothly with a rice dish (up to £3.50), plus a side order, such as the saag aloo (£3.25), or a naan bread (up to £2.50); and it will come to its sweet end with a delicious mango lassi (£2.25).
TripAdvisors rate Gurkha 2 a glowing 4.5/5 stars, and are eager to praise the flavoursome cuisine, quality of ingredients, and level of service.
An excellent meal, friendly staff and comfortable restaurant. We had a lovely meal at this restaurant. We were going out afterwards so we ate at 6pm which was no problem. The service was very friendly and helpful and the food was delicious - hot, fresh and very tasty. The meat was beautifully tender and the Gurkha beer was excellent. If we lived nearer, we would be regulars.
