A family-run eatery with a friendly, welcoming atmosphere, Cyrus Mediterranean Restaurant offers diners the opportunity to taste a marriage of flavours from Southern Europe and the Middle East. The skilled chefs take advantage of the rich culinary heritage of both Greece and Persia to whip up a tantalising selection of delicious dishes including much loved classics such as calamari, souvlaki and moussaka. Every Friday and Saturday night the restaurant is host to live music.
Diners can choose a starter and a main from Cyrus' flavoursome a la carte menu with meals accompanied by a shot of ouzo or soft drink each. Choices for starter include dolmades, vine leaves stuffed with rice, onion, parsley, herbs and spices (£3) or keftedes, Greek meatballs served with a tomato sauce (£3.95). Selections for main include gheimeh, diced lamb, split yellow peas and dried lime cooked in tomato sauce and served with basmati rice (£6.50) or kokkinisto, chicken legs cooked in a garlic, herb and tomato sauce and served with chips (£6.50).
