Walking holidays should be firmly fixed as soon as possible, as they have a tendency to wander off. Take a step in the right direction with today’s Groupon: £99 for a two night stay for two with a bottle of bubbly at Twitchill Farm Cottages.

A pair of stone-built cottages nesting dove-like in the grounds of a 19th century farmhouse, the elevated position of Twitchill Farm Cottages affords stunning views over the dreamily beautiful Peak District surrounds. Each cottage is fully kitted-out for self-catering, and a lounge area with Freeview TV beckons guests weary from days of rugged rural walks.A mile away, threading down through a wooded lane, is the village of Hope with its cluster of grey cottages, church spire, and convenient clutch of local facilities.

The cottage will be cosy with central heating and replete with fresh linen and towels, plus a bottle of bubbly will be put on ice to toast new arrivals. All facilities are provided in the kitchen, including fridge-freezer, microwave, and electric oven. A utility room shared between the two cottages gives guests access to a washing machine and tumble drier. With outdoor activities ranging from hiking and cycling to climbing and caving, days may be spent pursuing elemental adventures or embarking on indoor adventures with Chatsworth House and National Trust properties nearby.

Reviews
Twitch Farm has received many impressive reviews, with Holiday Watchdogs awarding a solid 7.5 stars out of ten for the cottages’ facilities and stunning locale. Comments make note that the walk to and from the local village is steep, though easily scaled by enthusiastic walkers, and the surroundings have otherwise been celebrated by visitors.
I really enjoyed my stay at Twitchill Farm Cottages, they gave me a very warm welcome and all the family really enjoyed the swimming pool and the walks. The accommodation was fab and very clean. I will definitely be visiting again and also recommend these cottages to others.

Our second visit to these cottages. Lovely location, especially if you like walking. Four of us stayed in Chestnut Cottage which was a little basic but clean and very comfortable. Bedrooms a good size. Heating fine (if anything, too warm) and the swimming pool was superb after a day's walk… Overall, Chestnut Cottage was excellent value for money. We have every intention of returning.
