Synopsis
Set in late 1920s Soviet Russia, the story of The Twelve Chairs, which forms the basis of Bubushkin Sekret, is a fool’s quest for fame and fortune. Told by his grandmother on her deathbed that she hid family jewellery in one of twelve dining chairs that have since been appropriated by the government, a desk clerk embarks on a mission to find them and retrieve the treasure. Farcical hilarity ensues as the clerk and his side-kick track down the chairs one by one, in a desperate search for the lost jewels.

About The Circus
Bringing their high-flying antics to the British public, Moscow State Circus present their interpretation of this classic Russian tale. Led by the jovial jokers Valik and Valerik, their high-octane performance features an astonishing array of aerial acrobatics, including the gravity-defying high wire Stalkions, the juggling Sherakovs, and the spiralling Doktrov. They unveil the plot through a clash of classic and contemporary circus acts, vividly bringing to life the events, artistry and humour of the performance. The event is encased in the Big Top, which features four sections of grandstand seating for a full view of all the thrills and spills of the circus.
