Decadently lounging across the lush Hastings countryside, Carr Taylor Vineyard has been maturing the fruits of its labour ever since 1971. As one of the first commercial vineyards in the country they have had decades of dedicated wine-crafting and sipping experience, finely tuning their 37 acre vineyard to create distinguished English vino. With Vintner’s Cup award winner, Alex Carr Taylor at the head of the operation, the hand-tended vinery produces a variety of white, rosé, sparkling and fruit wines, which take from 6 months to 3 years to be fermented.
Grape enthusiasts will be led through leafy groves by a knowledgeable guide, who will squeeze out facts and figures concerning the vines and the history of English wine. There will then be the opportunity to learn about the production process, visiting the vats and presses as well as the bottling room’s machinery. After ducking and delving through the tour, revellers will be offered a tutored tasting session, trying up to five wines with a dedicated grape guide.
