Under new ownership, Kaydees Place is a refreshed addition to the city’s culinary cosmos, located just a short stride from the seafront. With stylish and neutral décor, this charming restaurant has a diverse menu offering modern and classic palate pleasers.

With a range of options, diners can start with the likes of the house mussels cooked in a cider, shallot, cherry tomato and butter sauce served with toasted bread (£6.95). Main dishes include the matured 8oz rib eye steak served with hand cut chips, garlic sauteed mushrooms, crispy peppered onions and a classic brandy and peppercorn sauce (£14.95), and famous pies filled with chicken, steak and ale, fish or chunky lamb. A wonderful meal, excellent service and a pleasant atmosphere. The staff welcomed us from the moment we arrived. They were attentive but not intrusive. The food was presented well and very tasty. The menu had plenty of choice, the difficulty was deciding the dish to order.
