Sirloin steak has been argued to be the best kind of steak, often considered to be a cut above the rest. Take a bow with today’s Groupon: £15 for a two-course steak dinner for two at The Camelford Arms.
Anchored down a row of white terraced houses by the coastline, The Camelford Arms is a recently-refurbished traditional British pub awash with flavoursome pub fare. The establishment is decked out with rustic wooden floors, exposed brickwork, and ornate chandeliers as it serves up hearty steak dinners, wholesome, home-made stews, and ale-battered fish and chips.
Accompanied by the gentle sea breeze, tastebuds can sail into satisfaction with an 8oz sirloin or rib-eye steak served with red pepper chutney or peppercorn sauce, chips, peas, onion rings, and a salad garnish (£11.90). The culinary cruise will come with either a bowl of home-made soup served with a crusty roll and butter (£3.90) to start, or strawberries and cream (£3.95) to finish.
Reviews
The Camelford Arms is met with a lively 4/5 stars on both Yelp and Qype while its Facebook page has attracted 376 Likes so far.
They had 3 real ales on tap on my last visit, including Harvey’s Sussex Best Bitter, Thwaites Original and Adnam’s Broadside, which seemed decently kept. Service was friendly if a little slow, though they were fairly busy. They also serve traditional and hearty-looking pub grub (the specials board consisted almost entirely of beef dishes), though I’ve not eaten here.

The refurb has made this into a great looking pub and will be back after the hangovers of Pride subdue to see what its like during normal trading. Well worth a visit.
