The Hotel
An old coaching inn perched on the banks of the Thames, The Red Lion Hotel celebrates its Tudor heritage with antiquated decor, an open fire, and a tranquil ambience. The red brick exterior conceals 39 rooms, each handsomely furnished with period features, and, in some cases, regal four-poster beds. While the snug bar serves fine wines and local real ales, the hotel restaurant offers seasonally rotating menus, featuring locally sourced ingredients .

Groupon Recommends
A truly mammoth collection of exhibits can be found at Oxford’s Ashmolean Museum, where a recent renovation has endowed it with 39 new galleries displaying cultural relics from across the globe. Regal delights are on offer at Stonor House and Gardens, where visitors can explore a splendid red brick country estate which retains much of its period charm. Hikers in the Oxfordshire hills should watch out for the baffling Uffington White Horse, whose 374 foot-long figure has been emblazoned on a local hillside since the prehistoric age.

Reviews
The Red Lion Hotel received encouraging scores of 7.8/10 from Booking.com users and 3/5 from TripAdvisors. While some guests found the rooms a little noisy at times, many praised the hotel’s location near the centre of town and the river, décor, and helpful staff.
Stayed one night on as a birthday treat. Very pleasant - asked for room overlooking river and was given one. Although road underneath window, didn't notice any traffic in the night. Dinner was excellent - food piping hot and waiter service was excellent.

The old world ambiance and charm dating back to Tudor times had been retained both from the outside of the hotel and inside. It is next to the river Thames and right in the centre of Henley with good parking facilities. It is only a five minute walk from the train station for London.
