Groupon finds out a little more about what’s going on at Mendip Snowsports Centre, where wintery vibes stretch to scenic views and Alpine-styled eateries.
What is Mendip Snowsports Centre?
It’s an all-weather slope where customers can learn to ski or snowboard at a relatively low altitude, or simply practice and hone their skills. Lessons are available for adults and children, with group and private tutoring, while more recreational activities come in the form of tobogganing.
What is the centre like?
Located in the Somerset countryside, it’s close to Lyncombe wood. With picturesque views from the top of the slope to the hills and countryside, the centre gives off the impression of an Alpine mountaintop - just without the chill that comes with it.
How does tobogganing work?
Tobogganing is suitable for children aged 4 to 12 to let off some steam. The toboggan will be provided, and they'll have an hour to hurl themselves down the hill as many times as they can manage. Sessions are unsupervised, so mums and dads are asked to stick around, preferably with a camera in hand.
Are there other facilities on site?
Many; the selection ranging from archery to climbing as well as caving. For something a little more relaxing, however, there is an Alpine lounge. While inspired by mountain lodges, with a log fire and a menu of local ingredients, the bar also features a few locally brewed beers too.
Mendip Snowsport Centre currently boast an impressive 1522 Likes on Facebook, and comes recommended by all 36 previous Groupon users surveyed so far. A couple of comments highlighted the venue's facilities, though special mentions went to the enthusiastic and friendly staff.
