Sharing the sights and sizzles of sub continental cooking, Ahmed’s Curry Cafe tempts taste buds with an open kitchen filling the air with spicy aromas fresh from the pan. The chefs use slow cooking to infuse flavours, specialising in tandoori and haandi techniques. The cafe has been going strong since opening in 2001, and regularly updates its menu with new dishes to try.

Collecting grub and returning to the comforts of the living room, or dining out in the restaurant, Indian food lovers can get their fix with a main and side to nibble on. The king prawn bhuna (£9.45), fish Rogan Josh, a whole trout with tomatoes, onions and coriander sauce (£7.35), and tamarind chicken with fresh coriander and green chilli (£6.95) make for a mouth-watering selection of mains, while the sheem seed bhaji (£3.50), tarka dal (£2.95) and chef salad with chillies (£2.95) are among the ample sides. Those dining in can take a seat with a glass of wine each (£2.95) too.

Reviews

Ahmed’s Curry Café has attracted some positive reviews from visitors who appreciate the eatery’s fresh take on Indian cuisine. While some diners encountered a wait during busier periods, reviewers celebrate the quality of meals, praise is heaped upon the customer service and welcoming atmosphere.

Excellent delivery service - good choice for vegetarian. The Sheem seed Bhaji is lovely, haven't seen this dish elsewhere.

Best quality curry in Bristol. I have been going here for years and it is superb. Mainly get take away, but sometimes eat in. When you eat in, the food tastes even better. Recommend the Chicken Dhansak, or the Vindaloo.
