Learning to ski is like dating; exhilarating, heart-racing, and generally ends in chasing a person through a snowy field with a pole. Don’t take any stick with today’s Groupon: for £12 instead of £31 get a half-day of outdoor activities at Avon Ski & Action Centre.
The huge 230 acre site on the edge of the Mendips allows daredevils through its pearly doors for a range of acitivities, including skiing, snowboarding, climbing, shooting, and archery. Adrenaline addicts can speed down the 165m dry slope on skis, a toboggan, or strapped to a snowboard The brand new dirt track at Avon Ski & Action allows beginners or intermediate mountain boarders to build their skills, and the site also includes a hotel and restaurant, for exhausted experiencees in need of muscle-boosting sustenance before cracking on with the physical tests.
Gallant Grouponians can enjoy one and a half hours of skiing or snowboarding on the dry slope under the expert eye of fully qualified instructions in the first session, followed by a free half an hour to spend in the cafe or resting up ready for the next session. The second half of this half day consists of two hours of two activities, either mountain boarding over humps, bumps and a quarter-pipe on the dirt track and testing hand-to-eye co-ordination with field air-rifle shooting, or the other option of archery and the free-flying feeling of power kiting.
