Just like a good witch can turn pumpkins into real coaches, a good story teller can turn words into real witches. Learn magic that lasts past midnight with today’s Groupon: £19 for a one year subscription to The Story Emporium.

More than 90 story videos can be available to children and parents at home, to help children develop their speaking and writing confidence, while inspiring their imaginations. Told by famous storyteller and TV actor Phil McDermott, each story telling session is filmed in close up without music, using the full spectrum of facial expression, gestures, and language to exercise children’s imaginations better than a TV on a treadmill could ever dream of. The programme has been found to be particularly helpful for children who struggle with English literacy, such as children with English as an Additional Language, or those with learning problems.

More About The Story Emporium

A product of more than 45 combined years spent teaching, acting, and working with children, the Oracy to Writing Process was conceived by Muneeza Inam and Phil McDermott to help children discover the freedom of listening to a story. Combining Phil’s acting experience with Muneeza’s familiarity with vulnerable and differently-abled children, the stories create a safe escape space, while repeated words, facial expressions, and gestures help cognitive, linguistic, written, and social abilities to develop.
