Led by a woman who has chalked up 30 years' industry experience, Health Academics fill blackboards and CVs with a range of beauty and wellbeing courses. A purpose-built training centre provides the starting point for learning journeys, featuring classrooms stacked with modern facilities and a library for hitting the books. Small group sizes help keep tuition on its toes, with students raising their hand in a wide range of classes ranging from make-up to sports massage.
Students wanting to learn a new skill can attend a one-day introductory course in a subject such as Indian head massage, nail care, or mini facials. Lasting from 10am to 5pm, these courses aim to equip students with a grasp of basic techniques and award certificates of attendance on finish. Those wanting a more in-depth look into a subject can tick the register for a three-day VTCT course in areas including waxing, pre-blended aromatherapy, and stone therapy massage, while the Swedish massage course lasts four days. These are VTCT-awarded courses, some including an assessment which requires a direct payment to the examining body and a shiny certificate upon successful completion.
