Variety is the spice of life, which is why many talent shows end with a milk-chugging contest. Savour suitable amounts of spice with today’s Groupon: £15.40 for a two course Indian meal for two with rice at Rupsha.
Transporting taste buds to the appetising shores of South Asia, Rupsha is one of Clifton's newest culinary additions, serving up rich and vibrant cuisine to eat-in or takeaway. In Rupsha's dining room, a fresh colour palette of aquamarine makes the walls pop with life, while intricate Indian tapestries add a warm and cosy feel. The restaurant's menu sates bellies with flavourful and traditional Indian cuisine, much of which is prepared in the sintering flames of its traditional clay oven.
Duos can practice synchronised chewing routines with a starter of the spring on the bone chicken, marinated in a special tandoori sauce (£3.95). For the mains, mouths can dive into a hot-lava ocean of biryani, where lamb, chicken or vegetables are garnished with onions, tomatoes, coconut and sultanas (£8.95). A blossoming range of vegetarian options are also available, and all meals will be accompanied by bowls of steaming, fluffy pilau rice.
Rupsha has earned a multitude of positive reviews, with Trip Advisors awarding the eatery an impressive 4.5/5 stars. Visitors especially appreciated the restaurant’s fresh take on South Asian cuisine, hospitable service, and welcoming ambience.
The service was impeccable, the food was delicious, and the atmosphere was mellow and comfortable. The Poppadoms [sic] were amazing and the prawn pancake starter we tried was unusual and we really loved it (it was big enough for two!). Highly recommend the unusual house specialties on the left side of the menu, Palak Mirch Afghan was lovely and spicy with lots of spinach, and Bengal Naga Jhaal was aromatic and rich. Both were so flavoursome… Highly recommend.

We were given a table in the cosy upstairs area. There's no wine menu, but I asked for a house dry white wine and it was beautiful! There isn't a huge menu but has more than enough choice of starters, mains & sides to satisfy anyone. They have a great chutney tray & presentation of food is excellent... Service was also great and our waiter couldn't do enough for us. There isn't a dessert menu but I don't feel it is needed in this place. However they do give you a little shot with the bill as a little extra which is lovely... !
