If you go down to the woods today, you should probably bring some waterproofs and wellies . Leaf the city behind with today’s Groupon: £76 for a two day earth oven building course and lunch made in the oven at The Cherry Wood Project.
Revelling in the great outdoors, The Cherry Wood Project plays host to alfresco learning and sustainable living, setting their woodcraft workshops and tool building sessions in 40 acres of private wildlife-filled woodland. Courses and meals are held in a large tented area equipped with tools, a level open fire, and an earth oven, as well as a hygienic, eco-friendly compost toilet and wood-fire heated shower to take earth babies back to their roots. Combining sustainability with hospitality, The Cherry Wood Project can pick up students and overnight guests from the nearest bus stops.
This two day course teaches students to build and cook in an eco-friendly, sustainable earth oven. Students also get to cook their own lunch of bread and pizza in the resident earth oven, and develop their all-important axe and knife skills. Outdoor clothing, waterproofs and wellies should be worn, to guard against big, rainy surprises.
