While getting information straight from the horse’s mouth is seen as a reliable method of extraction, bribing the horse in the adjacent stable with carrots works just as well. Enjoy a day of horseplay with today’s Groupon: £29 for a behind-the-scenes racehorse experience with champagne breakfast at Bedford Racing.
Cantering across 1000 acres of Cotswold countryside, Bedford Racing is an exclusive stable for racehorse work, rest, and play. Run by trainer Karl Kukk, whose steeds have competed in the Grand National, Cheltenham Gold Cup, and Champion Hurdle, the ownership training yard is safely saddled up in experienced hands.
Having been greeted with a glass of champagne, guests can get the morning off to a hoof-pawing start with croissants and coffee or juice for breakfast. Observers will then be treated to a tour of the stables, with the trainer passing on useful snippets of information, and watch the horses be taken through their paces. With plenty of opportunities to meet the jockeys and other trainers, questions and answers can be fired back and forth with minimal horsing around.
