Listening to live music can be an ethereal, soul-moving experience, akin to seeing an angel, spotting a rainbow, or getting a 1st prize rosette in the unicorn grand-national. Gallop into the festival grounds with today's Groupon options to attend the Summer Chill in the Park:
• £15 for two adult and two child tickets to Summer Chill in the Park (£32 Value)
A billowing band of bands will be marching over to Cambridge for the Summer Chill in the Park festival this year. An eclectic array of maestros will be strumming their stuff on the main stage from 1pm, playing a series of hour-long sets, with interludes from samba bands and other performers in between. Those who wish to satisfy their taste buds as well as their ear buds can enjoy the spicy scents and tangy tastes of the international food stalls and bars, where hog roast, BBQ, jerk chicken, ice cream and more galore will be served. Pint-sized hedonists are welcome, and there is a designated kids' area where little'uns can bounce about on inflatable assault courses, partake in treasure hunts and workshops, scamper up climbing walls, and have their faces painted to disguise themselves as wild animals or members of the band.
Free-spirited Groupon gentlemen and maidens can attend the festival on Saturday 13 August 2011 from 1pm, with the option to bring along the kids with a family pass. Families of more than four can bring along extra members of their flock for £2.50 per child, spending the day in a musical haze, or delving forks into plates of local produce.
