Surfing sea swells to the seashore, the qualified instructors at Porthcawl Surf School wet the heads of budding tube riders with a range of courses on the same beaches that will host the 2012 UK Pro Surfing Championships. The instructors are all lifeguards and have been helping visitors catch waves for the last eight years.
With wetsuits zipped up and yo dude jokes exhausted, budding boarders will be given some initial land-based instruction on the techniques required for catching waves in Poseidon’s playground. Students will then head back out onto the sand for some tuition on how to stand up. These new found techniques can then be used in the wet as trainee surfers try to find their balance and become one with the water.
