Nestled in the rolling hills of the Brecon Beacons, the three star Brecon Castle Hotel offers guests an opportunity to rest their heads in a fort that dates back to Norman times. Located in the heart of the picturesque town, the inn is a quick stroll from the lush greens of the Beacons National Park and affords panoramic views of the neighbouring countryside from its quiet riverside garden bar. The hotel’s head chef strives to provide freshly prepared cooking by sourcing produce from the local pastoral fields, plating it up in the high-beamed restaurant that mixes international fare with homely classics such as Welsh cheeses.
Rambling through the surrounding bucolic flora and fauna, two customers can choose to set down bags in a Standard Double, Superior Double, or Small Beacons Room complete with Wi-Fi access and a sleek LCD television. Whether taking a stroll through the charming village or practicing their swing with a concession at the nearby Cradoc Golf Club, guests can expect a quiet stay in Brecon. After catching some shut-eye, vacationing patrons can expect to be rewarded with a hearty traditional Welsh breakfast in the hotel’s stone-walled dining room.
Brecon Castle Hotel has received a number of encouraging reviews, with Bookers rating their stay an impressive 8.5/10. While visitors tended to appreciate rooms which overlooked the patio slightly less, reviews are overall very positive, and celebrate in particular the high level of customer service and calming atmosphere.
A very enjoyable stay. My husband and I we were in the area for business and stayed one night at the Castle. We had read reviews, including the Hotel Inspector so were unsure of what to expect. The staff were extremely helpful and the Restaurant manager arranged for me to have the roast lamb which had been taken off the menu at lunchtime and it was absolutely wonderful. The hotel is a little 'tired' and needs refurbishing in some areas which I am sure they are in the process of completing. Overall an enjoyable stay with excellent staff and food.

Have stayed there before and will definately [sic] stay again. Lovely, tastefully furnished room, which was very clean and the temperature was just right. This hotel is just a few minutes from all shops, restaurants and pubs but was very quiet at night. Staff are friendly, the breakfast was excellent and I would recommend this hotel to anyone.
