In the great excursion debate of 1842, participants saw 'golf breaks and spa days' beat 'cake bake and star gaze' for most popular resort-based pursuit. Spa therapies and a chance of afternoon tee with today's Groupon: for £36 instead of £90, enjoy a spa day for two followed by afternoon tea at Fusion Spa, Bryn Meadows.
Nestled within valleys and surrounded by 100 acres of gardens, Fusion Spa is based at Bryn Meadows, a grand resort with both golf and spa facilities. Forty two expansive en suite bedrooms provide horizontal repose for diurnal visitors seeking elongated visits. Guests staying for an extended period or those visiting for a day can enjoy an array of spa treatments, or tee off in capacious, refined parkland. After enjoying the amenities provided by the resort, plenty of local landmarks and attraction appease eyes hungry for sights. Just 25 minutes away is the historical city of Cardiff, while picturesque Caerphilly with its elevated castle can be found in just a ten minute journey.
Groupon holders can enjoy a spa day for two at Fusion Spa. The experience begins with a Rasul mud treatment; after a full explanation of the ritual from a therapist, the process commences with a soak in a monsoon shower, with guests going on to apply deep sea salts and marine mud to cleanse skin deeply, as well as exfoliate and moisturise. The treatment is brought to a peak when mollycoddled physiques are sat within a heated chamber, surrounded by an aromatherapy infused mist, finally being gently rinsed in a tropical rain shower, washing away remaining mud and helping to relieve tension. Following the Rasul ritual, continued corporeal entertainment is available with full use of the pool, hot tub, sauna and steam room. Suitably pandered bodies can then pay attention to the mouth, with a rich afternoon tea provided.
Although most reviews have been in reference to guests' stays in the hotel, some have commented positively on the spa and pool area. The Times featured Bryn Meadows Fusion Spa in their good spa guide, pointing out the relaxing and comfortable atmosphere.
The Fusion Spa is the most beautiful part of the hotel, with Thai styling, definitely conducive for relaxation. Great selection of treatments, the addition of a relaxation room to get you 'in the zone' is a great touch. They have a rasul mud ceremony room which I can recommend [sic]

Great views across the valley from the excellent swimming pool and Jacuzzi's floor-to-ceiling windows. Very relaxing treatment rooms with a dark brown colour scheme. Despite limited experience of spas I was made to feel comfortable by my therapist with no embarrassment factor and, crucially, the ambient music was not too cheesy.
