Dinner was invented to stop those born with a spoon in their mouth from eating family heirlooms. Put your expensive taste to better use with today’s Groupon: £16 for two course Indian meal with rice, side dish and capuccino for two at Jamuna.
Nominated in the Best Restaurant category in the 2012 Ethical Good Food Awards, this spice merchant serves up traditional Indian fare to tempt the tastebuds of the Welsh capital. Jamuna's contemporary yet easy-going surroundings are spiced up by an open-plan kitchen, so diners can see and hear their food frying, roasting, and bubbling towards readiness. The dining room is softly spot-lit, with deep red walls and wood floors complementing the tantilising dining experience.
Beginning with a starter, diners can ascend Himalayan hungers with aloo chat (£2.95), a melange of lightly curried vegetables and potatoes, or the chicken puree (£3.95)marinated and placed in a light fluffy roti. The main event could involve a classic masala or korma, or it could take a more adventurous route to the korahi chicken (£8.45) or Bengal shai (£8.45). Guests can also treat themselves to any vegetable side dish and rice, and have the option to upgrade to the fish menu for a £3 supplement each. A cappacino will then be served to wash down the feast and battle the post-banquet slump.
Reviews
Jamuna Indian Restaurant was awarded a spicy 4/5 by TripAdivsors, and one enthusiastic Yelp user. Diners commented favourably on the restaurant’s décor and friendly staff, though special attention was given to the taste of the Indian cuisine.
The staff were friendly, accommodating and charming. They cooked the curry to taste, my son likes a tikka massala however he asked if he could have it a little hotter than normal and they accommodated this. Our starters were gorgeous, as we're [sic] our mains.

This restaurant is colourful & vibrant and stands out from many curry houses in that the whole kitchen is viewabble [sic] by the customer from behind a glass screen. You can sit and watch your meal being prepared if you want to before retiring to a table to taste the wonderful flavoursome meal.
