About the Event
A veritable scrum of rampant rugby action, the J.P. Morgan Premiership Rugby 7s Series is the only sevens event featuring all 12 Guinness Premiership rugby union teams battling it out against each other for a chance to reach the final. Rugby sevens offers matches played on full-sized pitches, but with seven rather than 15 players, resulting in high scoring games and a fast-paced, attacking style of rugby. Slimmed-down sides are divided into regional pools, with London, North, and South events on 13, 20 and 26 July 2012
Fans of egg-shaped ball-based japery will be treated to a feast of rugby prowess on 26 July. Kicking off at 7.30pm, regional pool C will feature the behemoths of south west rugby as hosts Gloucester do battle with fierce rivals Bath, Exeter and Worcester in a desperate struggle for local bragging rights. The fast-paced cut-and-thrust of mud and stud warfare will take place in the thrilling surrounds of Gloucester’s famous Kingsholm Park, a veritable cauldron of rugby passion. These four titans of west country rugby will battle it out for the chance to finish in the top two and advance to the Series Final in Bath on 3 August.
Kick-off: Thursday, 26 July, at 7.30pm at Kingsholm Park stadium
Ticket redemption: Tickets to be collected from the venue’s ticket office
