Raising the curtain on four centuries of literary history, Shakespeare Birthplace Trust presents five Tudor and Jacobean houses bursting at the seams with Bard-related historical significance. From his famous birthplace on Henley Street and the farm his mother grew up on, to his final home and current archaeological dig, New Place, visitors can capture a glimpse into Shakespeare’s life. There are also regular shows and displays in the house gardens, with excerpts of plays performed by costumed actors, and archery displays by Tudor longbowmen each weekend.
Strolling around Stratford-upon-Avon, literature lovers can visit the birthplace of the playwright, wandering the halls and rooms loaded with Shakespearean drama. Visitors can also take in the archaeological dig at New Place, where Shakespeare is said to have written the Tempest. Hall’s Croft, the Jacobean home of the bard’s daughter, is also nearby, and littered with the apothecary supplies of Shakespeare’s son-in-law, Dr John Hall. Wandering three miles from the town centre, visitors after the full set can take a peek at Anne Hathaway’s romantic cottage, where Shakespeare courted his future wife. Following this with a visit to his mother, Mary Arden’s house, guests can witness realities of life on a working Tudor farm, trying their hand at skep-making, threshing, and basket weaving. Entry is also included to the exhibit Life, Love, and Legacy, a 15-minute show detailing William Shakespeare’s history.

Shakespeare Birthplace attracts a favourable 4/5 stars from Qypers and TripAdvisors. Earning special mention are the engaging personnel, value for money, and enlightening attractions.
Good value ticket and beautiful houses and gardens at all venues, wonderful actors at Shakespeare's Birthplace, great entertaining staff at Mary Ardens and lots for kids to do at both Mary Ardens and Anne Hathaways cottage [sic] - woodland walk etc

The actors reciting bits from plays and explaining the house were entertaining and informative. We learned so much about the man and the area where he lived.
