Climbing the career ladder, unlike rock climbing, requires a strong contact list, hard work, and a willing friend to stabilise the bottom while you ascend. Reach greater heights with today’s Groupon: £14 for a three hour introductory rock climbing course at Alter Rock Climbing Centre.
Helping spider men, women, and children of all ages boldly go where no human-arachnid hybrid has gone before, this indoor climbing centre challenges the daring, the brave, and the simply curious through a range of rock climbing courses. From miniature adults as young as seven to serious wall-scalers looking to take their climbing to the next level, Alter Rock has something for everyone, with courses led by experienced instructors and a fun, friendly approach. Meanwhile, the centre also supports and teaches the National Indoor Climbing Achievement Scheme (NICAS) for those wanting to go all the way to the top.

First-time ascenders can get friendly and familiar with rock in a session designed especially for beginners. The course will seek to help participants give their co-ordination, strength and fitness a leg-up and includes all of the necessary get-up such as climbing shoes, harness, belay, and a snazzy helmet. Abseiling and bouldering will also be covered in the session, which provides an excellent forum for meeting likeminded adventurers and climbing partners. Once customers have got to grips with the basics, they can return for a second session of unlimited duration, perhaps with their own set of climbing kicks purchased with the included £10 voucher.
Reviews
Not yet widely reviewed the climbing centre has nonetheless been praised by a selection of climbers on Google Maps:
Amazing use of an abandoned church. Loads of climbing space and great value kit hire.
