A fully operating farm complete with animal enclosures, rugged machinery, and plenty of muddy wellies, Highfields Happy Hens also specialises in soft-feathered rare breeds of beady eyed chickens. From the soft touch of a pygmy goat's mouth to the tiny squeak of a just-hatched chick, the farm offers visitors a hands-on experience of the best bits of animal husbandry. Visitors can then romp their way through a chain walk and hop scotch to the trampoline or the tractor school.

With flat hands primed to dispense two bags of animal feed, visitors can make their way around the farm to decide who should get fed first. Should little tummies get hungry with all the hard work, children can tuck into a lunchbox of a jam, ham, or cheese sandwich, as well as crisps, yoghurt, cake, and a carton of juice. A round of crazy golf could round off proceedings, before tired heads and weary legs can sleep it off on the way home.
