Children are treasured for their lack of arrogance, mainly because their youthful stature can be problematic when climbing on a high horse. Learn to ride something your own size with today’s Groupon: £12.50 for a day at the stables pony experience with two 60 minute lessons at Faughanvale Stables.
Set in 70 acres of lush Greysteel countryside, Faughanvale Stables saddles up with atmospheric indoor and outdoor horse riding experiences for all levels of rider. Leading customers with lessons for novice to advanced riders, the centre’s team gallops through cross country trails and two outdoor arenas with spectacularly green views of the Lough Foyle estuary. Catering to youngsters with membership to The Pony Club, the stables also provide an indoor ring with heated viewing gallery for competitions and happy trail riding during rainier days.

Kids chomping at the bit to immerse themselves in the lives of pretty ponies can run free with a day-long equestrian experience, beginning with a 60 minute riding lesson. Sitting atop one of the centre’s friendly creatures, children will learn about the tricks of technique before stepping down to groom their steed. Helping with the maintenance of their pony’s stall, youngsters can also learn how to tack up with saddles and leads before embarking on the second 60 minute lesson of the day, or if the weather's good, they can go rogue on a trek.
