A 19th century hotel, Panmure House is home to a restaurant serving traditional British fare within the seaside splendour of Monifieth. The restaurant provides cosy dining hideaways, and a conservatory area for sunnier days, allowing guests time to peruse menus detailing traditional British grub, afternoon teas, and Indian classics. With beaches nearby for blustery strolls, and leafy gardens to explore, the hotel also offers plenty of plush rooms for post-dinner slumbers.
Taking their seats as a twosome or team of four, guests can toast to gourmet nibbles with a glass of red, white, or rosé wine each. The traditional menu features starters like prawn cocktail (£4.45) or battered mushrooms served with a dollop of tangy garlic mayonnaise (£3.95). Mains come in hearty platters such as the mixed grill (£12.95), the home-made steak pie (£8.25), or a vegetarian dish of stuffed peppers (£7.25). Those feeling especially carnivorous can upgrade to a steak for £3 extra, and diners can also select anything they fancy from the Indian á la carte.
Reviews
Panmure House Hotel was rated an encouraging 3.5/5 by TripAdvisors. Though there were some mixed opinions on the service at times, generally diners have been pleased with the food and found the staff helpful and friendly.
The staff were very pleasant and helpful, without being too fussy. As for the food, probably the best thing to say is we sent back empty plates. This is fairly unusual for us, as our 13 year old is a very fussy eater, but she demolished every scrap of the tikka masala.

The staff were lovely and were very helpful, they even changed the music for us. The food was brilliant and we were even able to have extra plates so the kids could share with us.
