A free spirit is wild at heart and is best taken neat or on the rocks. Liberate your taste buds with today’s Groupon: £29 for a whisky tasting experience and two course meal for two at Duchally Country Estate.

A grand country house encompassed by 27 acres of parkland, Duchally Country Estate serves up a medley of musky malts from its lounge bar and restaurant, and boasts Whisky Embassy status under the new Scotland Whisky scheme. A wood-paneled lounge bar with an open log fire offers a cosy place to relax, and the on-site restaurant serves up sizzling dishes with local ingredients, where possible. The grounds are adorned with 55 luxury lodges, offering weary wayfarers a rural getaway, and regal, spacious halls make for idyllic wedding locations, with plenty of natural light and views over the rolling greens.

A pair of whisky connoisseurs can enjoy a tasting session with two course meal. Those attending on Tuesdays can attend the dedicated whisky tasting presentation in the Whiskey Bar from 6.30pm to 7.30pm, with a selection of 5 whiskeys from across Scotland tickling palates. Those attending on other days will sample three whiskies each; Glengoyne 10 year old, Auchentoshan 12 year old and Edradour 16 year old. A two course meal accompanies beverages, with starters including whole baked camembert, red onion relish and home-made oaties (£7.50) and mains including char-grilled sirloin of Scottish beef, home-made chips, field mushrooms and confit plum tomatoes (£21).
