After years of being a dish on the side, when the noodles satayed in with a much younger spring roll the crispy seaweed decided to finally say chow-main. Get soy saucy with today’s Groupon: for £25 get a two hour dim sum cookery class with Maureen Suan Neo at Asap Deli.
Wielding a reputation for producing the finest morsels from China and South East Asia, Maureen Suan Neo has used her fervency for Nonya-style noodling to successfully run the City’s top hot-to-trot lunchtime wok-shop, Asap Deli, and is now sharing her spicy secrets with others in cosy master classes. Although many different flavours are found in the restaurant, the speciality Nonya street food that is most passionately proffered fuses Chinese and Malaysian influences, mixing Cantonese techniques with Malay spice. Whether a wokery wizard with the sharpest knives in the draw, or a bit of a cookery dim sum, all can learn with Maureen’s comprehensive and fun introductions to the art of Asian appetisers.
Gorging Grouponites can gather round the e-steamed Asap Deli eatery for a two hour evening class specialising in dim sum dishes. Beginning at 6pm on Thursdays and Fridays with a drinks reception, over almost two hours Maureen will meander through a tasty menu of authentic dishes, demonstrating satay-sated trickery, before allowing attendees to try their hand at making their own spring rolls or fish cakes. Afterwards, working up those hungry stomachs, a buffet dinner will be provided so guests can piece together the tasty parcels prepared on their own palette.
